Who I Am

S'phongo is a Zimbabwean DJ, producer, spoken word artist, and cultural curator based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He has spent over a decade building spaces for African culture to move through — from running open mics and spoken word events in Zimbabwe, to founding Inkundla Spaces, to programming Jabulani Music in Sierra Leone, to his current role as a partner at THOA, the Afro-Continental events brand.

As a DJ and producer, his sets move between Afrohouse, deep groove, and ancestral rhythms — with spoken word woven in. He is a seven-time poetry slam champion and has toured the UK and Europe. He has performed across 8 countries — Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Italy, France, Belgium, and the UK.
